About Us

In Motion Physical Therapy was started by Deborah (Green) Romine in 1997. She is one of the full time physical therapists. She has over 20 years of experience and graduated from Easter Washington University in 1991.  She worked at St. Luke’s Hospital following graduation from EWU. While at St. Luke’s she had the opportunity to work in the ICU department, oncology department, extended care facility, orthopedic department, outpatient department, and rehabilitation department working with patients with spinal cord injuries, head injuries and cerebral vascular accidents. She was an instructor for the Back School and Hydrotherapy Program, and head of the Scoliosis and PCE Programs. Before opening her own clinic, she worked at an outpatient orthopedic and sports physical therapy clinic and a nursing home facility. She has over 30 years of experience of working with children and adults with varying levels of physical and mental disabilities.  She is active in the community and has volunteered her time working with local high school athletes.

Meet our Staff:

Barry Karalfa, PT, OCS is one of our physical therapists and joined our staff in the fall of 2001. He has over 32 years of experience and graduated with a Masters in Physical Therapy in 1972 from US Army/Baylor University located in Houston TX. His diverse experience includes working as a Staff Physical Therapist in WA and North Carolina, Chief of Physical Therapy in Mannheim Germany, Assistant Chief of Physical Therapy in Kentucky and North Carolina. Barry was a physical therapist in the military for over 15 years. Prior to joining our staff Barry was employed as a Staff Physical Therapist at the Institute of Orthopedic and Sports Medicine and HealthSouth Rehabilitation in Spokane and Institute of Physical Therapy In Lewiston, Idaho. He obtained his Board Certification as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist in 2003.

Gail is our front office receptionist and billing specialist. She has over 12 years of experience working in a physical therapy office and joined our staff in October of 2007. She will assist you in getting scheduled; assist you with the initial paperwork and all your insurance needs. She will call and verify your insurance benefits after your first visit. In a pinch she is known to assist the physical therapists with the patient set-ups, laundry etc.

Darlene is our physical therapist aide and joined our staff in 2001. She has over 15 years of experience working as a physical therapy aide and personal trainer. She will bring you back into the gym area or to private treatment room, assists with set-ups and supervises your exercise programs as needed. Darlene has a wealth of information regarding the importance of exercise and the importance of using proper technique.
